Scope In Animation

Animation industry has grown so wild that good animators are being hunted at a fast pace. As the succession of animation industry is touching new heights more the demand of brilliant animators is hovering in the market. With the rapid evaluation of animation over the years animation has evolved much more than being just about drawing and coloring figures. Now animation involves a series of tasks requiring different skill sets. It obviously involves the basic task that is drawing and coloring but besides that modern animation requires applications of Physics, Mathematics, and Information Technology as well. An animation film starts from idea development and followed by pre-production, production and post-production phases. With the rapid growth in animation industry techniques to upgrade animation keep evolving. Animation is used even in non- animation films to show something that cannot be shot in reality and it is so evolved that it is impossible to tell if it has been done by animation.

Animation is just not limited to movies. Content Developer:

A Content Developer is a member of the creative class involved in the creation, aggregation, or distribution of intellectual property designed to inspire, educate, persuade, entertain or inform the user.

Modeler:

Modeler is the one who makes the models for animation. They should have a solid understanding of anatomy, form and volume.

Story Broad Artist :

Those with strong drawing skills could be hired as storyboard artists who can visualize a sequence of events from frame to frame.

Character animator:

They bring characters to life and generally have knowledge of traditional animation, stop-motion animation as well as claymation.

Background artist:

The background artist is the person who specializes to paint the background of the characters and sets the background for the project.

Layout artist:

layout artist is just like a cinematographer of that animation project as they are decides the lighting and camera angles and he is sketching the background design for the animation.

2D animator:

Compositing artist :

Compositing consists of layering individual frames of animation on top of one another to create final images. These images are then strung together to create complete shots or mini animated movies.

Special effects artist:

They integrate live-action footage with Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) or other elements (such as model work).

Audio & video specialist:

An audio-visual production specialist assembles, adjusts and operates various audio and video components, including cameras, microphones, lights and sound mixers.

Visualizer:

Visualizer is a largely redundant name for a Storyboard artist or Concept Artist and is a mainly freelance occupation found in Advertising agencies to assist Art directors in drawing scamps and storyboards to a standard that they themselves could not manage for presentation to clients.

Texture artist:

They applies a surface to the 3D modeled character, object or environment.

Rigging artist:

A rigging artist takes the modeled, textured 3D character or object and sets it up with a skeletal system or joints (if required). Without this step, the 3D model would not be able to animate, talk or move fluidly and correctly.

Clean-up artist:

The clean up artist checks the accuracy and consistency of the designs and drawings. To be a good clean up artist, he should have good draft-man skill with the knowledge of density, width, volume and mass.

Lighting artist :

They create variations of shade, color intensity and shadows

Digital ink and paint artist:

It is the duty of a digital ink and paint artist to give colors to each frame.

Compositor:

It is the compositor brings together all the different characters and backgrounds in to single frame.

Editor:

His job is to edit images content etc.

Key frame animator:

Key frame animator draws the pictures of a movement’s beginning and end.

Rendering artist:

They take all the data in a scene such as models, textures, animation, lighting, etc and output the correct combination in the form of individual frames of animation.

3D animator:

They takes the sculpted, textured and rigged 3D model and breathes life into it. This is done by putting in order the key frames such that they appear to be in motion.

Image Editor:

They assembles various visual and audio components of the film into a coherent and effective whole

Website designing, CD-Rom production, graphics designing and three-dimensional product modeling are some other fields where animators can gain employment. . It has chances in fashion designing and interior designing and even in medical, legal and insurance companies for their presentations and models. Animators could even find jobs at print media and publishing firms. Free lance work is another option for animators, particularly those specializing in web animation. . The gaming industry that includes video and mobile games is looking forward for good animators. Some animation institutions appoint students for teaching assistance, so they can take career in to teaching profession also.

The good salary is the most attractive part of this profession. Within years these professionals can earn six-digit salary. As a junior animator or trainee one could get between Rs.10000- 15000 per month. A three to five year experienced animator will get 25000 to 40000. And a well-experienced animator who has a good portfolio of excellent animation work could easily get 50000- 60000 per month.

Chemical Engineering - an introduction

Chemical is of, made by, or employing chemistry or chemicals. Chemical Engineering is the field of engineering where physical sciences such as chemistry or physics, and life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, etc., along with mathematics and economics, are employed in the process of transforming raw materials into more useful substances. In its authenticity, it is applied chemistry. It involves the designing, construction, operation, and maintenance of machines and chemical plants that perform chemical reactions to solve practical problems or make useful products; and removal of chemicals from wastes to enable large-scale production of goods.

Those that study chemical engineering are called chemical engineers. A chemical engineer is one who works at the chemical industry to convert raw materials into useful products, and deals with design and operation of plants and equipments to perform such work. Primarily, a chemical engineer utilizes the principles of chemical engineering in any various practical applications with respect to the study of design, manufacture, and operation of plants and machineries in chemical related processes. However, recently, chemical engineers are more heavily involved in the development of new technologies such as fuel cells, hydrogen power, and nanotechnology, as well as working in fields such as polymer engineering and biomedical engineering.

Traditionally, a chemical engineer has only been concerned with process engineering. With time, however, today, chemical engineering includes much more than just process engineering. Chemical Engineers are now engaged in the production of a diverse range of products, as well as in commodity and specialty chemicals. These products may also include high performance materials required for aerospace, automotive, electronic, biomedical, environmental, and military applications. The chemical industries supply society with a vast number of products, including chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, food, textile, fuel, and industrial gases. The chemical engineer also serves the society by reducing and eliminating pollution, and applying biosciences in biochemical and biomedical engineering. Since chemical engineering consists of various programs, the spectrum of activity of chemical engineers is very broad. They could be design engineers working on a product along with mechanical and electrical engineers, or researchers engaged in developing new processes and products. Huge opportunities exist for chemical engineers in both public and private sectors.

Chemical Engineering is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. There are B.E. or B.Tech. degrees that have chemical engineering as an option. Further, one can also pursue higher education or a Master's degree in chemical engineering.

The scope for chemical engineers is expected to grow in the future owing to the industrial expansion and development. The more the industrial expansion, the more need for chemically produced products, converting raw material into useful products, etc. Hence, the more need for people who have knowledge about chemicals and, more importantly, the knowledge of the application of the required 'knowledge'.
